Google Blocks Android TV Photo Sharing For All Consumer Due To A Bug

Google has closed down the sharing feature by Google Photos to Android TV machines after a flaw was found that disclosed hundreds of consumer accounts to other consumers. Until the flaw is solved, Android TV users will not be capable of viewing images with Google Assistant on their smart TVs & set-top devices or setting Google Photo albums as their screensaver, as per media reports.

The error was first seen by Twitter consumer Prashanth who observed that, while attempting on a Vu brand TV to set up a screensaver, they can see number of other Google accounts, an error that was seen by another user on his iFFalcon smart TV. It is not fully clear what resulted in the error. Prashanth claims that they could not replicate the error on a different Android TV device (a Xiaomi Mi Box 3), and now that Google has provisionally banned the feature on its end, it is hard to see how extensive the issue is.

On a related note, Google earlier rolled out Android’s December security update, and for Pixel consumers, this introduction comprises more than a dozen feature patches to early bugs and enhance performance in the Pixel 3 XL and 3.
